My Hometown, Belmont, NC, hosts a music series during the summer. Generally, it's Beach Music. And what better band to kick off the series than The Chairmen of the Board. As you may know, General Normal Johnson, lead singer of the band and co-founder of Surfside Records, died last year. Fortunately, the band decided to stay together and to continue the tradition of playing the best music around.
Belmont is a small, former textile, town which has a train track that bisects it. Often a train will go through as a band is performing. Looks like a fun time was had by many. I wish I could have been there.
