The SLF and I went on a couple of differing road trips to North Carolina recently. The first trip was early late April to Wilkesboro, NC to attend MerleFest. The second trip was mid-May to Belmont, NC - my hometown to visit my sisters. Both trips were enjoyable, though long drives from Northern Virginia. We did stop off at Virginia Tech and Radford University.

The was taken at Belmont Live. General Johnson and The Chairmen of the Board were to play, but couldn't. Billy Scott and the Party Prophets performed instead. They were quite good. I was even convinced to dance the shag for one song. I would have shagged more, but my sister came down, as well as friends I hadn't seen since high school:
